The campsite is located on the banks of the 5,000 m² Stuurmanskolk, a body of water that likely formed in 1702 after a dike breach. The name refers to the Stuurman family, who lived for centuries on the monumental Stoltenberg farm. The kolk is part of the campsite: you can swim there and fish without a permit. The pedal boats and rowing boat are free to use for a relaxing ride on the water, which is also a favorite spot for various water birds.

The campsite is situated on the edge of the Salland and Veluwe regions, between the Hanseatic cities of Zwolle and Deventer. From this peaceful location, you can cycle past country estates in Salland, through the vast forests of the Veluwe, or along the dikes beside the IJssel River. The floodplain landscape is truly unique!
